every other aspect of the performance i would give the edge to the 300zxTT eventhough someone will probably argue my statement. as for the N/A versions: there dead even i would say...i have heard of N/A's beating SL's and i have heard of SL's beating N/A's. if they are 5-speed probably boils down to driver. if its automatic, probably who knows their car better and who can brake launch better in the 1/4 mile. i would give the edge to the 300zx on the average for this one due to the RWD vs. FWD when launching. as for handling, i will give that to either 300zx eventhough either 3000gt is a very good handling even for the weight of the VR4 and the FWD of the SL. i myself have beating 2 SL's in my N/A days...1 stock and 1 lightly modified. and i had a 2+2 automatic with pop-charger and cat-back...

Re: 300zx tt vs. 3000gt vr-4
I'd give it to the 300ZX N/A. FWD starts to become a liability once you exceed two-hundred ft-lbs of torque, and the 300ZX is gonna have a much easier time managing tire slip on corner exit. If you just care about drag racing, then either one will work fine, but again, FWD is gonna make launching a bitch, and it'll come back to haunt you once you start tuning the car up.

Between the TT versions...the VR4 on the launch but the Z will catch up due to less weight
Between the NA versions...the Z for being RWD and getting a better launch and it will stay ahead |

As much as I like the Z I think I'll give it to the VR-4. It's a very close race though either way you cut it and you can't go wrong with either.

I would (did) take the vr4 when it comes to TT, but the Z between the 2 NAs.
