94 prizm m/t problems..... please read

I was coming home tonight and I went to shift into 2nd gear and it just sat there and did nothing, there was a bit grinding, but not much.... All the other gears work fine. I do drive my car hard and I pretty much race it. I'm thinking it could be the #2 shift fork causing this problem. But I'm not sure. If anyone knows, please tell me..... Please
