It's been awhile... 2

I haven't posted any races lately... which is odd.

Been taking it fairly easy really. Cruising is just as fun as mashing out. Anywho.....

T'was 2am when I left my buddies place from hanging out, doing the usual bullshit that friends do. You know how it goes.

Well, I hop onto the freeway and set into a cruise for the 8 mile or so jaunt home. As I'm entering the freeway I notice a mid 90's Mustang. Looked like a '95 or so. He was ahead of me.

I contimplated speeding up to see if he wanted to play, but decided to just cruise at 70mph. After awhile of him being about a half mile or ahead of me, I enventually caught up to him. I sped up a tad, actuality. Car was running pretty good in the cool morning air (66 degrees at 2am rocks).

I slowly come up to him and I'm to his left. I can't see a GT badge yet, but by the looks of the car it looks to be a V6 Mustang. I was slightly dissapointed. And now next to him I started to speed up a bit just get past him, the guy looked like the type who'd want to race but... in a V6 Mustang I wouldn't be much fun... for either of us.

Skip ahead a mile and half, He's been sitting in my blind spot pacing me. Ugh. I notice two 240sx's. They were S13s (1989-1994). Both were running what looked like stock wheels. Which means nothing cause I've seen 240sx guys run stock wheels with SR or KA-T motors.

The rear 240sx had what looked to be stock exhaust, bummer. The lead one looked like it had an exhaust of some sort but it wasn't anything major if it was aftermarket. I took it from 75mph to 90mph past them.

See if they wanted to bite. The Mustang guy tried following... now he's just annoying me. I turn the boost up from 7psi to 15psi. The 240sx's both seem to want to play.

I'm in the number 2 lane (lane just right of the fast lane) they're spread out over the other 3 lanes. With the Mustang be hind me riding my bumper. I speed up just a hair, and then let off and slooowwly slip it into 4th gear. I tried to do it so nobody would notice me downshifting.

I waited for them all the bunch up around me, and then I dropped the hammer. Let the SR rev out to 6700rpm and shifted to 5th and held it. I let off at around 130mph. They were maybe a half mile behind me.

I got over to the slow lane cause my exit was coming up. The Mustang guy finally caught up and was riding my ass again. So, I hit it in 5th gear and dusted him a second time.

Finally he went past and the 240sx's looked like they went off to follow him.

That's fine, they can have him...

Didn't even want to race either... but I just can't say no.

I had more fun racing my friends Saturn L300 through an intersection than I did racing those guys. Hell, earlier that night I raced my buddies Dodge 2500 Ram with a Cummins Diesel, I put it on 7psi to race him so it was somewhat fair. Those things are fairly quick for a 6100lb truck.

I was short shifting to keep it somewhat even with him... but it was moving pretty good for a diesel! hehe.

I suppose... I really don't know why I posted this. It's nothing great.

I guess I felt composed to post something, seeing as I haven't in a while.

I'll post something more extravegant later... depends what happens between now and then.

It has been awhile hasn't it. Even so for me. Guess I'll have to bust out a story of my own later this evening . I love messing with those mid 90's v6 stangs.

mid-90's stangs are weak, my friend just ran his 5 speed 97 w/ flowmasters on it....16.77 w/ the dash mounted beltronics timer

i expected low 16's or high 15's even out of him

Re: It's been awhile... 2

That is so bullshit. We all know that a V6 Mustang with just a summit muffler can whup anything ever made. Ever.

Just playing man, but hey, a race is arace, right? Shit, I raced a four door Hyundai with five people in it last night, and I was enjoying the whole thing. Guess thats just me. Elchico...does your friend want to race for about $25k?

EDIT: I agree with ya redneck, sometimes I prefere just crusing to any actual racing.

the 96 v6 mustangs only made 160hp. they were so slow, stock wise they run 17's and 0-60 in the 9's. i've driven toyota automatic echo's that rivaled its speed.

Lol, I bet those guys were like "WTF?", lol.

I also agree cruising is just as fun, in fact, I actually prefer it now. I just love doing about 45-50 mph in a 55 mph zone pulling the car, lol.

so I guess the 240's werent turboed huh? well I know how you feel. as of recent I cant race anything decent, its either an econoline van that wants to race me or a Cobra SVT. too much or too little but nothing fits right!
we need more vids of the Panda before you sell it if it is you even decide to sell it, I'd get attached to a car like that.

Re: It's been awhile... 2

good race, i know how you feel man, i cant get a good race lately either. Last night i raced a 2000+ grand AM GT, that was a joke, by 60 MPH i had 2-3 car lengths on him, but since its been so long since i had a good race i felt i had to really humilate him by preceding up to 90MPH at which point i had a few bus lengths on him. Theres something to smile about when my econobox slaps around other cars that are supposed to be fast, or alteast there owners think they are fast.

it really depends on the year. the older v6's were junk. the newer body style to the current style are actually pretty decent. those run's 15's stock.

Re: It's been awhile... 2

I know the newer ones are faster than the older body style. Ive never raced any of the new stangs. Maybe i wont so i dont get spanked. I will just stick to the older style so i can keep feeling good about myself.
