Question Golf mk3

I`ve been planing to make a replica of my 1:1 car wich happens to be a ´95 VW Golf. Now I´m using the Fujimi Golf as a base model but there is a one big problem with this kit: it has too many doors

So if anyone knows about any transkit or something which includes a 1:25-1:24 3door mk3 golf body please let me know before i start to chop down the Fujimi body

Re: Golf mk3

There is/was one for rally cars, but I might have a solution if you can't find one:

plus

and a little

and you'll be all set.

Sorry, it's a Mk4, not a Mk3. Plus it's a rally car, which probably has some mods that your street car wouldn't.

Re: Golf mk3

wow i've never seen that kit before, it looks a like v5, if you have a three door golf isn't that a gti? I believe fujimi does make a 3 door hatch. If the one you have has 5 doors then just putty up the doors.

Re: Golf mk3

Be careful if you do just putty up the rear door panel lines and door handles because the front doors on many four or five door cars are shorter than those on the two or three door models. I don't know if the Golf is one of these or not though.

Re: Golf mk3

That's a good tip: I wanted to make a Focus ZX-5 at some point, and now that you mention it, it definitely doesn't look like it's than much longer than the ZX-3, so the front doors might be shorter (Then again they might not, to save money).

True, the front doors do appear to be a bit shorter on the 5-door compared to the 3-door. The rear c-pillar on the 5-door looks slightly thicker as well, although it could just be the funky paint scheme playing tricks (love those harlequins!)

Re: Golf mk3

I wouldn´t be asking for a transkit if it was just a matter of puttying up the rear door seams
As mentioned before I have to move the side windows back and strech the front doors a little if I´m going to do it right.

On the other hand if I manage to make it work I suppose I could make some money with it since I have this friend who can cast the body in resin..

Yes the front doors on the three door golf are longer then they are on the 5 door. so in turn the front door has to made longer and the window longer as well. Later Rick
