Handheld engine tuners?

OK, I watch the car shows on Spike TV every weekend, and they often show off new handheld engine tuners which increase horsepower, torque, change shift points, etc. However, I don't usually see them used on smaller engines (Of course they've only done like one 4 cylinder on any of those shows, some Honda build-up on Horsepower TV): Is anything like this available for the Impreza?
