Bent Frame

My car was parked on the side of the road when a woman crossed the street and hit the car on the driver's side front bumper. The body shop says that the frame is bent a 1/4 of an inch which can be straightened. What are the implecations of a bent frame being straightened? Will there be performance and safety issues?

Re: Bent Frame

The car doesn't really have a frame as in the older US cars & current trucks have. As long as it wasn't damaged into the engine compartment & where the suspension attaches I wouldn't worry. Go to a reputable body shop, familiar with the vehicle.
