Where is the fuel regulator laocated

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. I have a 97' Astro and it will not start. It was running fine two days ago but I parked it in the drive way with the engine running for a few minutes, when I came back out I found the enigine had shut off. It has a new fuel pump about six months old. But, i'm only reading about 45psi fuel pressure. I was going to check the fuel regulator but I don't know where it's located. The manula isn't much help.

Hello.
My '97 Astro got harder to start. With help from the guys here i got a lot of info.
Also, I phoned GM Service. I was told a 97 Astro needs a MINIMUM of 60 psi to start. Also, that they hadn't had to replace a regulator yet. The pumps are know to die.
I had 59psi. No start. But a bit of starting fluid, and it ran fine.
I replaced the pump.
It now starts and runs fine.
To answer your question, the regulator in built into the fuel injection system, by the injectors, I believe under the 1st part of the intake manifold.
I'd suspect the new pump. I've read here of others with bad new pumps. If you have an ampmeter, my old pump drew 4 amps, ramping up to 7. The new one draws 9 to almost 10, with no ramp- up. You can measure this at the pump relay, in the engine bay fuse box. (read the pins carefully.)
