N20 or turbo
allright i am mostly interested in stright line performance. I was thinking about a greddy turbo but then it hit me. i could just put like a 60 or 75 shot in and have the desired effect. but i have also heard that it will really hurt the engine.
by the way i am talking aobut a gsr motor. thanks |

IMO turbo is the best "add-on" for reliable hp gains and also the easiest on your engine. Good luck in your decision

Nitrous is cheaper/easier in the short run, and should not hurt your engine if used properly. A turbo on the other hand is more expensive/more hassle in the short run, but its there whenever you need it, whether racing or passing someone on the highway. It also will not hurt your engine if tuned properly.

yes but college=lack of funds=faster to get now then a turbo=wait maybe i will get nos then start saving for a turbo=no more equal signs. well What sort of a 1/4 mile estimate could i expect with say a 50 or 60 shot on a gsr 5th gen civic. jsut ballpark. also if i refrain as much as possible will it hurt my engine in the long run?
thanks |

Well, what kind of dough do you have to spend? I would recommend a wet nitrous kit if you can afford it because it supplies the needed fuel instead of having to rely soley on the factory fuel injectors.

Well if ya don't have the money to spring for the turbo then I guess you have to go for the nitrous. A turbo sure is nice to have though. If you can afford it I think you would be much more satisfied with the turbo. Then you won't just have power when you race, you will have power all of the time.

Cant go wrong with Nitrous Oxide Systems (Nawws!), or maybe Nitrous Xpress. Find a system that suits your needs and then find a price you like.
As a side note- I think its funny that there is a nitrous company called Texas Nitrous Technology or TNT for short. TNT is the last thing I want to think of when juicing my engine....
