Spare Tire moved to Barn Doors in 92 Burb?

Hey all. I'm getting a 3/4t suburban tomorrow with the barn doors in back. I'd like to mount the spare tire on one of those doors, and reclaim some cargo space. Does anyone make a kit to do this?

TIA.

Re: Spare Tire moved to Barn Doors in 92 Burb?

they make one for the full size vans, i dont see why you cant get one for the burb. check the van custom shops in your area. if they dont make one i'm sure any good welder in your area could make you one by there disine to fit your burb. never saw one tho and hope i never do the wife will want one.
and that means i'll have to make it.

If you have a tow receiver hitch, there are a few of outfits that make a hitch receiver spare tire carrier (fixed or fold-down) that run about $60. I'll have to dig up the links from my other PC -- it took a while to find them with a Google search. Try doing a search on "receiver hitch accessory" Some really expensive ones run over $250...

Sorry, I meant to say search on "spare tire hitch accessory."

Anyway, this is one of the least expensive fold-downs for $67 and free shipping...
