Window Problems!

I have a 1997 Grand Prix GTP. Here's my problem:
The switch on the drivers side (2 button) "broke", and the window would roll down, but will not go back up. I took the switch off and took it apart, and found that one of the metal pieces was bent, and that's why it wouldn't go up. I switch them around, so the bent one is on the passenger side (same switch). When I plugged the switch back in, I still wasn't able to get the window up. However, the passenger side has quit working as well (even with the passenger side switch). It went down some, and now nothing works - up or down. Also, the circuit breaker for the window gets VERY hot now. I switched it with the power seat one, and it worked, so I know the breaker is still good. So basically, it sems like all of it has quit working. I ordered a new switch for the drivers side, but that's going to take 3 - 4 days to come in. Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong?

Re: Window Problems!

Yeah, your switch is burned out. I've had it happen twice, I'm pretty sure the new switch will fix it, unless the motors have went bad.

It sounds like it is the switch. And I know your running out of switchs to check it with.

Well, I bought a new switch today, and the windows went right up. Thought I had shorted the motors too, but guess not. Whew! Cause it starting raining about an hour after I bought the switch ($100 Though!)
