Re: Hi guys ! I am new here
Hey,
Welcome to AF!! Which kit are you referring to for the Tamiya or Fujimi qestion? RX7? I'd go with tamiya. Frank X. |

Re: Hi guys ! I am new here
Tamiya's body is beefed up, so it looks muscular and inaccurate, but nevertheless looks pretty good in 1/24 scale. (It was designed that way.) Also, if you need the 13B engine, you'll need the Tamiya's R1 kit.
Aoshima and Fujimi bodies are more true to the actual car, but just look okay. If you want the last variation of the RX-7, Fujimi is the only option, because the other kits (Tamiya, Aoshima and Rosso) represent the early version. (For example, the front bumper) More information on RX-7 kits can be found at: http://www.xs4all.nl/~erix7/ |

If you know where Kampung Baru is, then you can head down to Phantom Customs and we will gladly teach you on how to build a model from beginning until completion for free (yes... FREE) all you need to bring is your models and paint. We provide air brush and compressor to be used (also free). The shop is open from Monday (10.30am to 8.30pm) to Saturday (10.30am to 9.00pm). I'll be there every Saturday from noon. P/S: Sorry guys if this seems like an advertisements but I'm just trying to bring all the model car builders together as the number of the builders here in Malaysia is a bit small.

Well, on your questions whether it is ok to order on-line through hobbylink (HLJ), all I can say is I purchase my models mostly from them (HLJ) and their price plus the shipping is waaayyyy much lower than the prices in Malaysia. You can also use bank draft to pay if you don't have access to credit cards. Anyway, happy modelling and welcome again to AF.

Well, as for the bank draft question, you have to go to the nearest bank, I usually use Maybank and ask them for the international bank draft form, fill it up and pay the amount + service charge (around RM7) but make sure you receive the payment request form (they will state the total amount plus the shipping cost) and print them. Then you have to send the bank draft along with a copy of the payment request form (to ensure correct model is delivered). They will usually recieve it within a week and when they shipped the model, it will usually take 9 days or less to arrive. So, the total is around two weeks or more but less than a month.
