Driver's Sliding Door, 98 caravan

The driver's side sliding door on my 98 grand caravan got closed a little hard the other day and now I cannot open it. I have taken the inside panel off, but I cannot figure out what to release to make it open. It looks like everything is working.

Any suggestions???

Thanks.

Re: Driver's Sliding Door, 98 caravan

I Used to have this problem about 50% of the time I used the power door locks. I found that the locking mechanism was not holding the door shut, but somehow it was just hanging up on the retaining catch. I have forgotten exactly how I could get it open, but I think I used to lift the whole door from the bottom a bit (I used an ice scrapper) or push at the inside top part while pushing the door open. Like I said, the weight of the door is just hung up on the catch somehow.
