Unhappy 97 airbag installation

The wife got into a low speed accident. the air bags deployed as intended the windshield smashed from the passenger bag cover flipping open. I can pick up replacemments from ebay. there is NO warning lights on(i take that one back....now that i have restarted the van its on now, when i wrote this i drove the van home from accident....it never even stalled so yes the air bag light is on). Is there a way to test the "deployment sensor" so when i install the new ones it doesnt deploy on me and is there a procedure to follow for replacement. other than that there is no damage to either vehicle. any input is appreciated thanks

John
