Re: First Sketch Ever

The 2d side is good, but the 3d is not so great. Not to say it's not good at all, in fact for someone who has never drawn a car before, it's absolutely stunning...

Also, that's a very difficult perspective to draw, and I give props to you for trying it, but...

**IF YOU'RE FEELINGS GET HURT EASILY STOP READING HERE AS IT MAY BE FOUND OFFENSIVE**

But if you want true C+C, the shading is not so great, and not blended. Almost...like you tried to make it look real but then went too dark or something, or half did the job. The perspective is really good, the wheel(s?) are nice, but the center of the rim is too high...

Also, proportionally, the car looks stretched. And the shading marks are far too dark, and out of place, to look realistic.

Try to work on getting perspective right before you attempt shading. and remember, look at the way the car's reflections are. and mimic them, don't try to make them look extravagent or jazzed up. If you trying to draw something realistic, then you have to try and make it look as close as possible. With concepts, it's easier because you can have some fun with reflections. But if you seriously want to get into drawing, you must really look at the car and just recreate what you see. That's all.

**AND CONTINUE READING HERE**

For a beginner in car drawing, looks absolutely stunning that you did that w/o any practice.

Re: First Sketch Ever

No prob. I just didn't want to hurt any feelings, but re-reading it, it doesn't sound as harsh as I thought it was. GJ me.
