Deep Thoughts,

I mainly wanted to see what you guys have goin through your minds as far as phrases that really make you think,

This one came from a dream I had last night,

"The Door Is Only Locked If You're On The Outside," - Bryan A.

Not the best but I came up with it,

woah..that was pretty deep thinking. There are so many different kinds of reality to put towards that. Let me do some thinking and I could come up with a deep thought also. *thinking......*

Re: Deep Thoughts,

My favorite is "cogito ergo sum" I think therefore I am. This isnt what it has been twisted into meaning today, what it really means is that the only time you can truly know that you actually exist and that you and your existance isnt just a big hoax put on by some powerful being is when you think the words "I Exist"
Rene Descartes is my hero!

Uh.. isn't the door still locked, despite you being inside of it? Following your logic, you wouldn't be able to lock anything from the inside.

I didn't concentrate on the rest of the dream after I heard that, I soon awoke and repeated the phrase to myself several times so as not to forget most of the dream was quickly forgotten,

The context was that there were people locked inside of a cage, like a basketball court with chainlink around it,
There was a captor on the outside and he said something that could be interpreted in a few ways, but not meaningful,
One of the men inside the cage said something about being deep then "The door isn't locked if you're on the outside" (I changed it slightly to more normal circumstances), The man apparently dazed/moved unlocked the door, and then, as I said I awoke,

You're stuck on the literal meaning, The quote in the way I interpreted it was that if you're on the inside of say a locked house door, its just a door, locked or unlocked, you have the choice.
Its only from the outside that its truely a locked door,
But as drewh4386 said it can be put towards many different types of reality,
You make your own meaning,

That is good, I wrote that on the front of my notebook the first time I had it explained in class,

Plato's Dialogues are good too, I only read excerpts from "Allegory of the Cave"- but its deep, really makes you think about reality

I believe it was also Plato that said "The unexamined life is not worth living..."

Another couple I just thought up, (Please, if you quote me, quote me)

"On a given day, there are a hundred different choice you can make, depending on your choices, you live a hundred different lives every day" - Bryan A

and based on the above statement:

"You are your own creation, You can be anyone" - Bryan A

"A mirror is a look at yourself, who do you see?" - Bryan A

Random:

"Life is worth living, until its worth dying for," - Bryan A
