'93 Z28 for $2200, is this a good deal?
i found someone selling a 1993 Z28 for $2200, if the car's not gone by Saturday I'm going to take a look at it. from what I understand, it is teal green, has 190k miles(yikes), and the electric locks dont always work(but i dont care because its not that bad to just reach over). all the miles are going from richmond to va beach and back so most are highway miles. he says it doesnt leak or burn oil. what kind of problems would be likely to arise with an engine this old? what would a rebuild cost to get it as close to new as possible?

Other than the mileage it looks like a steal at that price. See if he'll let you take it to a mechanic and have it gone over. Have them listen with a stethoscope , put it on a scanner, check the trans..etc. If it checks out good...buy it.
For a rebuild you are looking at about $1500 give or take and depending on how much of the work you do yourself (pull engine/install. etc) |
