91 Tracer operating temp

Would anyone here know what the "Normal Operating Temp" is for a 1991 Mercury Tracer?

Mine seems to be running really hot.

I have had cooling system problems and am going to try a lower temperature thermostat.

Any Suggestions?

Re: 91 Tracer operating temp

Dear Tracer owner...
my Tracer runs at about 1/4 way up the gauge
When I originally got this car I was worried that the cooling fan was not on...but was told unless it gets in the higher heat ranges...the fan does not turn on.

Does your cooling fan run?
Where on the temp gauge is the indicator?
Flush and fill, thermostat...can not hurt.
