Red face stupid durango want start

I need major help. my husband is car repair impaired. my durango has been great until the past month. one day i go to get in it and it will not start. i keep trying and trying, it will not even turn over. then my impaired husband drives it to work yesterday and it will not start again. we had the mechanic at his work look at it, they put the battery cables on it and try to jump it off and it still will not start. nothing the mechanic tried worked and there is this like ticking or knocking noise behind the dash board where the glove box is. if any one could help please do. i have three kids and can not afford to have it looked at by someone who charges an arm and leg.

I don't know if you still have the problem but I replace the battery terminal clap and cleaned off the corrosion and it helped. I had the same problems as you did.
