98 Civic EX Driver Side tire is rubbing

Ive searched all over but havent been able to find a specific enough thread to match my problem, so here goes, thanks in advance.

If there are atleast two people in my car at any one time, the rear drivers side will rub when going over odd driveways or bumps, if there are 3 or more people the rear driver side rubs over any inconsistency in the road.

Im well aware (after I bought them of course) that my tires/rims are probably wider than they should be, but I am partial to retaining them and am seeking an alternate solution to my problem.

Tire size is 205/55 R15, and the rear drivers side gap between the tire and the fender is slightly (roughly 1/2 inch) smaller than the passengers. Im coming to the point were I want to replace the shocks and springs with whatever a mechanic would recommend will work. I would appreciate any input though...

Alrighty, well first start by telling us what kind of shocks and springs you have currently. Are they OEM? Seems strange that one side would be lower than the other if they are oem. If they are then it is possible that your shock is just blown. Untill you can replace them I would suggest raising the car slighty if possible.
