Question 93 Accord window problem

The problem I am having is the drivers window tilting forward and not staying in the tracke when I rool it up. Iunderstand this problem to be wide spread but have not heard of a solution. If anyone knows an answer it would be greatly appreciated.

so i had the same problem when i first got my 90 honda accord, and i didnt think about it for a while, but then i checked the window and noticed that a piece of the rubber that guides the window through where its supposed to go, was missing, so i just went to the junkyard, pulled one out of a door, and just slid it down the door and put it into place, and the first time i guided the window into the rubber guides, and after that, had no problem.

just a thought.

Re: 93 Accord window problem

This happened on my 90. The track gets lifted by a 2 pieces of metal that are in the shape of an 'X'. When the window is fully up, the 2 metal things are in the shape of an 'X' and then as the window goes down, they fold over each other and go flat. It's hard to describe, but if you take the door panel off the inside of the door (takes 5 mins) it is very easy to see.

In my situation, this metal X had become bent and got stuck on itself while halfway down once, preventing it from going all the way up or down. Pretty much the same thing you are describing. I took the X out and hammered it straight..this offered a temporary solution, but if my car had lasted longer, I would have gone to a junkyard and found another, or custom built something to replace it. It is a fairly simple fix if this is your problem. There are other reasons that lead to window problems...usually from the motor, or the regulator, etc. Generally, if you take the door panel off, you can usually track down the problem. Hope that helps.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
