2005 canyon

Im interested in this vehicle but do not know alot about engine and horse power. I believe it is rated for 175 hp, is this enough to pull a small horse trailer (2300lb) loaded with an 800lb horse? I see its rated for 4,000 lbs towing capacity. Does it mean that is what it is capable of? would it be too hard on the truck to do this?

Thanks for any input!

I have this truck. It will have more than enough power for what you need. The I4 rocks. Don't even need a 5 or 6cyl! Amazing truck and engine.

I recently purchased a crew cab with the 2.8 engine. Mine has the high speed rear end for gas mileage. If you are going to pull with it, I suggest a lower geared rear end.
