I am looking at many different air intake kits. I was wondering if anyone bought one that actually made a big difference on their blazer. I have a 4.3L engine. Please vote or tell me your opinions.

Re: Air Intake - Performance matters!
I ghettoed one together using the existing parts on my truck. She seems to be a bit more responsive and has given a small boost to MPG. I am still collecting data over a month's time of so to make certain of a few things. I am going on a roadtrip, some 400+ miles round-trip in a few hours. I will see what's going on for certain over a long, lazy 70 MPH jaunt up to Kansas City.

How did you make it? What parts did you use?

Re: Air Intake - Performance matters!
Ebay intake will give you the SAME increase and save you 150-200 bucks over the name branded variety.

Re: Air Intake - Performance matters!
Hey wolfox I read in your post about where you reset your computer after your air intake mod. The intake I bought from ebay didn't mention this and I never pulled the fuses. I have noticed better throttle response but only slight mileage increase.( maybe from using better throttle response more often?) My question is; If you don't reset the computer will It learn the new fuel mix on it's own over time? Thanks.

The name on the side will not net you any difference in performance.

If it is larger than the throttle bore size, it is good enough.

Re: Air Intake - Performance matters!
I bought an ebay kit.....$40 and I cant use it because the rubber collars that came with it dont fit. They are too small
![]() Never was in a big rush to rectify that though. Sorry I am of no help here. |

Re: Air Intake - Performance matters!
yeah, there is rubber that will stretch a little....and rubber that wont go on unless you heat it up a lot and freeze the throttle intake piece in some Liquid O2. I got the latter
