HELP! Stupid "nickel and dime" jetta
My MKIII idles fine, just under 1K, but it rumbles really bad. My windows shake and rattle. When i accelerate, the engine roars, and it feels like it lags, too. Also, sometimes when taking off, going straight, it makes a grinding sound. The BIGGEST problem would be that when i shift, the whole front end just drops, REALLY HARD, like the engine is dropping. Could it be the motor mounts or the suspension? PLEASE HELP. My car is falling apart.

check your motor mounts and tranny mount.
what motor? also if its a 4 cyl check your exhuast manifold where the 2 pipes are welded my old jetta had a crack in it. is the suspension soft(if you push down on the bumper does it move freely) |

Re: HELP! Stupid "nickel and dime" jetta
When i push on front bumper, not too soft, like normal. But the springs look like they dropped lower, closer to the tire. Now that i thought about it more, the engine itself isnt making the loud noises. It could be the grinding of something else or if it is loose motor mounts. Where are the mounts located?

one is right in front on the top of the motor right by the grill. the other is on the bottom side towards the back.
a couple of threads ago I seen something about a swaybar making noise not sure if you have one on yours, they said they sprayed some WD-40 on the bushings and that fixed there problem. |
