Aston Martin DB7 GT

After I saw the first photos of the new Aston Martin DB9 GT race car in 2004, I hoped that somebody will make a 1/24 scale kit of this car. Although, one french resin caster annouced to make a kit (sometimes) and Scale Production will (hopefully) make a kit later this year.I didn’t want to wait and started to look around for something close. Surfing the web, I found photos of a mid ‘90s purposed DB7 Le Mans race car now resting in a museum in France. I had a cheap 1/24 diecast model of the DB7 (still available from Guiloy of Spain, however not easy to find) in my collection and converted this model to look similiar to the DB7 racer.
Wider fenders were added using Milliput, foglights drilled-out, scratchbuilt the rollcage, adding metalmesh grill, raceseat from the parts box, chassis/wheels/tires/spoiler supplied by Tamiya Porsche GT1. Body painted Testors British Green met., decals came from a Colorado GT2 sheet.
Hope you enjoy this ‚phantom racer‘!

Re: Aston Martin DB7 GT

Real nice build.

By coinsidence I've jsut got back from watching the new DBR9s taking the first two places in the Tourist Trophey at Silverstone. They will be kitted in resin I think, and would look great sat with your 'Phantom'.
