Major Service Engine Soon Problem

My Service Engine Soon light always comes on after a big rain, car wash, etc. However, lately it comes on even on nice days. The light will stay on for days. I have checked and tightened the gas cap...no change.

No here's the main problem: A couple of times I went to get gas and my car would not take it. The hose would stop as if my tank was full. I know at least one of the times the light was on. I am not sure about the other time but I know I was on empty so this posed a major problem.

Re: Major Service Engine Soon Problem

Sounds like the air relief is plugged somehow, and honestly, I don't know how to fix that. Hopefully, someone who knows better on this will chime in.

Post your year and engine size, that would be big help to help us diag. the prob.

Re: Major Service Engine Soon Problem

Vent Valve was replaced. I'm hoping this will solve my problem. Will this help my gas mileage now that shit won't be evaporating?
