Angry Tranny Issue 01 Shitfire 2.2

Car is a 5spd manual, when shifting into second gear and disengaging the clutch the tranny makes a rattling noise? the car loses all power until the rattling stops.

I have taken it to the GM dealer where I am told oh its normal...... well it doesn't seem like a normal issue. It has just recently started doing the same thing in 4th gear. Any comments would be greatly appreciated

inspect the exhaust. does the car shake when this happens? does the motor feel like it shakes?

The exhaust seems fine, it doesn't shake at all when its in second. It does buck like a pig when you downshift into 3rd and the rpms hit 2k it is ridiculous.

Re: Tranny Issue 01 Shitfire 2.2

very odd, but its possible. when i worked at a chevy dealer, we had a 2002 z24 5speed that the porters blew the clutch on, they put like 125miles on the car. if you just bought the car, tell them to fix it, its unexceptable, or go to another dealer.

I have been to 2 different dealers, both say its "normal". We have 4 dealerships in the city. so i guess i will have to take it somewhere. Its ok I have 13mths to pay for it and 13mths of warranty left. I have already made up my mind that GM no more. I would rather drive a rice rocket at least they are compitent enough to address and issue.

Re: Tranny Issue 01 Shitfire 2.2

well obviously if your complaining about it, its a new car, i seriously doubt its normal. these techs acutally test drive this "normal" behavior? how bad is it?

The techs have test drove it, the service managers have test drove it. It has gradually gotten worse over the last few years. spreading from just 2nd gear now to 2 and 4. I will have to take it somewhere to have it checked. I just don't know where?
