Re: help need!!!
Is that brass rod? Tricky stuff to cut. I use a cutting disk in a rotary dremmel style tool. Heats everything up and is not that clean (or safe!) but does the trick quickly. I imagine it will take a long, long time to link up all those pieces no matter how you do it. Maybe substituting some plastic rod of the correct diameter will make the task easier?

Re: help need!!!
I've had success cutting smaller, harder wire in a miter box, with a sharp razor saw. Much more accurate IMP than a tubing cutter.
Or, and experiment with this one, take a small pair of wire-cutting pliers, and fill the 'back side' of the cutting area (When closed) with silicone. Let it cure, and then slice it down the middle to you can open up the pliers. Then, find a place on the pliers where the depth is right, and simply snip away. The silicone should catch the pieces, but maybe do it in a plastic bag or something, just to be safe. |

Re: help need!!!
After reading that guy's website, do it his way: Drill holes the right depth is some plastic and use side cutters for it (Get a cheap pair of flush-cutters at Radio Shack, $4, who cares if they are dulled by the end). My ways will work, but are more complicated.
I prefer to think of it as a complex solution comes from a complex mind, a simple solution.......

Re: help need!!!
I haven't tried this chain set myself, but what I've heard the easiest way is to mount the chain links on the rod and then cut it. Shall be terribly tricky but the end result, if successful, is great.
