2002 Forester brake issues

A friend of mine has an 02 Forester and he had the front pads changed about 8 months ago. He has a squeel and small grind when stopping. My friend was told this is typical of the Forester, but I seriously doubt it. Has anyone here had experience with this?

Angry

Well here is what I found. The original brake job was just over a year ago and while my friend was camping in the mountains one of the cal. bolts came off. Well they managed to limp it off the mountain and then next day the shop towed it in and said they repaired everything, including replacing the brakes again. I found both pass. side brake pads ground down in the areas where the pad was damaged by the rotor and loose cal. Freaking hack job. If you live in the Springs, stay away from Foreign auto
