Re: questions for wrx owners

Goods: AWD, can't mess with it. Easily modified to get more power, full TBE and some ECU tuning can do wonders for the restrictive stock system. Having said that, pretty damn decent amount of power anyway. Reliable. Practicle, can get your groceries if you need and take ppl around.

Bad: "glass tranny", not exactly a car to be launching hard, repeatedly. Drivetrain power loss. Insurance.

That's all I can think of so far. But this car is definitely fun to drive, no doubt about it. And once you get bored of the power, some have gotten their WRXs down to 9 second 1/4 mile times without nitrous - so if you have deep pockets, the possibilities are endless.

Oh yeah, did I mention the turbo lag? It's not THAT bad, but 3600rpm is a bit steep for my liking. Then again, this can be "fixed" (sort of)...

Re: questions for wrx owners

An STi/WRX with a nice aftermarket turbo back or cat back exhaust gives most people wet dreams. It's a very very nice low boxer rumble in low rpms.

The stock exhaust on the STi is almost as nice.

Re: questions for wrx owners

Well... I *love* my WRX. I'm pretty much convinced that it's the pinacle of all cars. Absolutely perfect.

Na, it's awesome, but you should know that I'm used to driving junkers around.
