Problem with front wheels ......

Looking at my truck from the fromt I noticed that the p/s wheel sits in a 12-6 as normal, but my d/s wheel leans closer to a 1-7 position. Not completely 1-7 position, but leaning that way. I want to find out what it could be before I run her over to a mechanic. Any diagnosis? Ball joints and / or tire rods were mentioned. Thanks for any help.

Had the same problem, found the camber adjustment bolts loose. You didn't mention what year your truck was, or if it was 2 or 4 wheel drive. On a 94 Jimmy 4wd you'll find the bolts on the frame attachment to the upper A frame. In any case it'll mean a front end alignment.
It could also be ball joints, and while your at it, check the tie rod ends, and idler and pitman arms, but the suspension guy will check all of that. This is a big heavy truck, (even the small Jimmy) and that puts a lot of force on the suspension, keep up on the maintenance, grease all of the fittings regularly, at least every other oil change and get the front end aligned yearly.
Good luck

Re: Problem with front wheels ......

If the front wheels are turned to the left, this is normal. If they're straight ahead, 94Jimmy probably made the right call...

Sorry .... My truck is 4wd. It is only the d/s wheel that looks slightly tilted top to the right. I really havent noticed any problems driving ( Excessive shaking / noises ) I got a great deal on this truck, and I just want to drop $$$ where it is needed the most first.
