External air temperature sensor location

Does anybody know the location of the sensor that gives the temp of the outside air? Mine has started to display nothing but 50 degrees and I can't seem to locate it. Any help would be good. Thanks! 2002 LTZ

I know my '04 is right behind the grille. Take a look there... really small black piece. It has a small plug attached at a 90 degree angle.

Good. I was going to suggest you go out on a cold morning and slowly sweep a hair dryer over every inch of the truck, with someone monitoring the display to tell when you got "warm." :^)

While we are on the topic...
Is anyone's Compass all screwy? Mine says I go east when facing the sunset (thats the west for the geographically challenged)

Your compass may need recalibrating. Check the owner's manual to fing out how.

I am having the same problem...did replacing the sensor fix this problem.

I am having this problem too. If anyone figured it out, please let me know if it is just as simple as replacing the sensor. Also, a picture of where exactly it is is nice. I looked on the top left corner of the grill and I think I found what has to be it. Thanks!!!!

Eureka! So I swapped out the sensor and no good, still 50 degrees. So after some tinkering I replaced the fuse under the back car seat (slot 35 or 36) and it worked, back to 101 degrees. I figured this out by going through the wiring diagrams in the Chilton book. The fuse box had spare fuses so just swapped out the one where the brown wires run to.

I found the fuse in slot 36 (in the fuse box under the rear seat of my 2004 TB EXT). The fuse was good. I insterted the key and turned it to the run position just to check that with the fuse removed the HVAC would not work. I turned the key to the off position, reinserted the fuse and started the truck. Instantly I was at 105. after about 15 minutes it came back down to 73 (which is what is was outside).

i have just upgraded my rear view mirror from normal to temp/compass one. And now I need to install the temp sensor. Does anyone know how to hook up the wire and where to find the sensor.
