fuel

I have been using regular gas in my 95 LHS. After reading the owners manual it says to use only premium fuel. will i hurt the engine by not using the more expensive gas? I know the higher octane burns cleaner and what not but will i burn anything out by not using it.

Re: fuel

Thje octane number relates to the gasoline's resistance to detonation (Pre ignition or engine "ping") The factory recommends 89 octane "Midgrade" gasoline to ensure the unlikelyhood of this happening. You can run regular if you like but if you hear the engine ping under any load then I would go back to the midgrade.
