it wont start

ok - an MR2 T
the fan wasnt working - so wires were spliced - attached to this wire and that wire. now - the car doesnt start. all the fuses are ok and all the wires are back to the way they were in the beginning. spending a million bucks to fix it is out of the question. is there anyway this can be corrected without having to take it in to a shop? help.

Have you checked all the fuses? fiddling with the wiring may have blown the main engine Fuse.

Question

This may sound very simple . . . it may annoy you even . . .

I'm asking so that I can think of the possible problems.

If you can, describe in detail everything that you observe from the moment you stick the key in the ignition. When you push the key in the ignition, keep the door open . . . listen so that you can tell us if you hear the door chime or not.

Describe in order everything that either happens or fails to happen as you turn the key . . .

Just trying to help . . .

You edited your post to add "checked fuses" im a demi god, with a god complex I know these things.
Well asuming that the battery is charged, and all the fuses are actualy ok, (including the master fuse in the engine bay, it looks like big relay with a little clear plastic top, (at least on the JDM MR2s)) then you need to check the Starter motor Realy, or even the starter motor its self.
Do you think this problem has much to do with playing around with fan wireing? or is it something else that just decidied to pop up at the same time?
Its possible you disturbed an earth wire somewhere, or you've blown a realy, or hidden fuse.

Thats, cool. Somethimes I can get away with it.

A $1000!!! damn. Thats a lot. You might have to try some wreackers and see if you cen get a used one. It might be a common part, but you'll need a Toyota tech, or the wreacker to tell you that.

Sygon:

About trying to find your part for cheaper . . . try:

Parts . . .

The site navigation is a bit tricky at first . . . I've had good (CHEAP!) results ordering from them. Good luck, sorry we couldn't be of more help.

Post your results please, I'm interested . . .

Moppie: You've got a seriously abrasive on-line persona . . . it must suck to be you . . .
