Mods in 88 Escort

I have a early 88 escort Gl with 1.9 L with CFI. I was wondering if anyone has tried putting a roller cam and lifter set in. I am going to try it but I want to know if anyone else ever has for reliability issues. Thank you for looking.

Re: Mods in 88 Escort

If you can find the parts it's a better, and more reliable system. It should gain you some nice power.

Re: Mods in 88 Escort

Are you sure it doesn't already have a roller cam in it? 88's and after had them. I have an '88 head on my '90 engine and it's a roller cam head with CFI. If you don't, check a local junk yard, as they might have something, but be warned....you'll pay around 120 bucks (Napa was the cheapest for me) for a set of 8 roller lifters.
