my friend found a rifle twos days ago they cleaned it up and on the barell it says

U.S. SPRINGFIELD ARMORY
MODEL 1903 912357

if eny one can tell me enything about this gun please tell me. Also they found 4 shotguns and 2 other rifles, one of the shotguns is a sawed off 12 ga.

well Springfield is a company that produces rifles, so Springfield Armory just means the company that made it i would assume. The model number is just telling which one it is that they produced, and in this case it appears that the first four digits are also the year of production. Thats just my guess though.

U.S. Armed Forces standard regulation rifle since 1903 (hence the name) until the spread of World War 2 (during which, however, it was used as a sniper rifle, due to its extreme accuracy). Works in bolt-action, feeding from stripper clips, fires the .30 type M1903A1 ammunition.

That rifle in very good condition appraises between $1500-3000

Where exactly did you find a bunch of guns?

tell your friends to either give the load of guns they found back to whoever they stole them from or if they actually did find them i would wipe them down and get rid of them since if someone got rid of several guns it is probably because they shot someone with them.

they are not all from the same person some of the guns have been there longer than the others, and that sawed off id probaly a murder weapon and i think they are gonna get rid of it

I'd report the guns to the police. Who knows - they may match up and solve murders, and put some people seriously at ease...

take the guns to the cos now. seriously dont try to sell them or get rid of them. police is where they should be

or you could go rob a few stores with them, fire off a few rounds, then take them to the cops and tell them about how you found them.

well we did take them to the cobs today, they said that we will get them back if nothin shows up, fat chance
