Roadmaster Auto Level Control

I have a 1994 Buick Roadmaster Wagon with an Auto Leveling Problem.
About a year ago the OEM air shocks were replace with Monroe equivelents because they were leaking. About 2 months ago, the compressor would start running continuously even without any weight on the back. A new height sensor on the rear was changed. Now the compressor does not run at all, no matter how much weight is put on the back. The mechanic says it may be the compressor is bad, however, it ran fine before the switch was installed, just all the time, until I pulled the fuse. I do not think that is the problem. The fuse is OK also. Any ideas? Thanks!!!!!!!!! Tom ck

I just got out from under my father's 96 wagon. His compressor stopped working. I was able to make the compressor relay operate by grounding the yellow wire on the connector that plugs into the sensing unit. In my case, the compressor did not come on. Probably will convert to manual inflation rather than replace the compressor.

You might try disconnecting the linkage arm on the sensing unit, and operating it by hand. If the compressor operates, then the linkage just needs adjusting.

Check your fuses too. The compressor motor fuse is in the box under the hood. The sensing unit fuses are in the panel on the driver's side of the dash board.
