Guys I own a 2000 3.2L V6 Manual Rodeo (Frontera in Australia). The one thing that bugs me driving this is the short shift in first gear. I guess that is saying I feel first is too "tall" ? You need to change very quickly. Do others find this? I reckon I would start off in 2nd gear about 50% of the time with just a mild slip of the clutch to get going quite comfortably. Usually from a flat or decending position or in traffic. Do others do this?
I guess a quick fix is larger diameter tyres than stock. Just curious to see if others notice this. Perhaps I'm also getting lazy and just need to go auto next time.

My sister-in-law's totally stock 2003 rodeo 3.2L 4x4/5spd actually seems to have a fairly high ratio for 1st gear. You'd have to rev the heck out of it to take off from a dead stop in 2nd.
G/luck Joel
