mclaren f1 materials

hello everybody...i'm from Colombia ( south America ) and working here in Italy as a car Designer.
I joined this Forum a few days ago, and congratulations for having this great forum, for all the things you have written about this magnific car and because it keeps everybody informed about what's going on with this car around the world. ( and also the pictures i have found here, they are great! )

i'm a mclaren fan, and i'm already buying everything about mclaren, i even have almost completed all the mclaren in UT, i did'n even know about a 1/12 scale mclaren from minichamps, i knew it from a friend last october and found it in ebay and bought it right away. i will show you my collection later.

i was just wondering what do u think it's gonna happen to the mclaren f1 in the future about it's body material? because i know that the carbon fiber is a material wich looses its chemical properties. so someday in the future this cars' structure, chasis, and body will become weak and will loose their properties and strenght.

I have one of the Minichamps cars. Cost me £250 about 4-5 years ago. Its the green version. Its sooo worth the money. About as close as Im ever going to get to owning one, and its the most detailed model Ive EVER seen.

As to the shelf life of Carbon Fibre. Ive never heard of that before. How long do you mean? 25 years? 50 years 100? 500? Perhaps McLaren check for rigidity when they carry out the servicing?
