Scan Tool / DLC question

I have a 1994 Park Avenue which is obviously OBD-I but has a 16 pin DLC. Now I want to buy a scan tool and the Actron CP9145 / CP9150 seems to be able to read the codes. Has anyone experience with this tool? Will it really work with my car?

Second thing is about the DLC connector. After some online research I get the feeling that the cabling of the DLC is somehow mixed up. Mine has the following configuration / wire colors:

pin color (function)
4 black (GND)
5 black/white (??)
8 black/white (remote transmitter programming)
9 orange (??)
14 green (??)
16 light brown (+12V)

Can anyone confirm this? So far I have not been able to completely figure out the function of pins 5, 9 and 14.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Scan Tool / DLC question

You have the ODB I variants that "bridge the gap" so to speak to OBD II.

Re: Scan Tool / DLC question

Yeah it's still and OBDI computer with an OBDII connector. Get an OBDI compatable scantool with and OBDII connector and you should be in good shape. Funny how they did those hybrids

Had some success concerning the functions of the DLC pins, posted the info in the non-OBD-II 16-pin thread over in LeSabre forum.
