88' 88 Rewire headlight Q.

Does anyone know how to rewire the head lights on this model. Or have a wireing diagram? TIA.

i just rewired mine to accomodate lights from an 85 98---what are you needing? details?

Are you needing to replace your whole light assembly? If so, then you have a lot of trial and error.....or even better, before you start cutting wires mark them w/ tape and write on them "left bright positive" or "right blinker negative" and do the same for whatever donor or replacement parts you have.

Front end damage. I am trying to replace (rewire) just the lights from the headlights on a friends car. I have not seen the car yet. I need if possible a wire code, Wire to headlight (L+, L-, R+, R-,) on each side if you can recall. If you cannot them I will have to buy a light tester and go from there.

That front-end damage sucks, eh? I had the same predicament...'cept i prolly had a lot more parts to fix --4 fenceposts

Your blinkers shouldn't need re-wireing, nor your lights mounted in your bumpers....hopefully.

If your friend's car is 1987 or later, then the lights should have clips that just connect together....your lights are one piece w/ halogen bulbs, right? Ask your friend if his lights are one piece or are two separate bulb sections. If they are two separate sections, then you have rewireing to do.

If they are separate from the pre-1987 update then you have to rewire the lights since the harnesses are not the same. Black is the ground on both headlights, the green wire goes to a blue wire (for the lights on the outsides, the non-brights), the brown wire goes to another blue wire for the brights. I may have flip-flopped whether the brown or green are the brights or not, but i'm color blind so i dont know which are which (had to trial and error). Trial and error 'till ya get it working is my best suggestion.
