tick tick ?
my friend owns a 1991 240sx, and when we start the engine we hear a ticking sound, what does that mean?. and how do we fix it if its a problem. Sorry if someone already posted something similar. im using the computer at school so i cant search through the pages. thanks alot!

prolly lifter tick... its not a huge problem but noone could be certain without more info

Theres a clock in your engine.....
Check your oil level and valve lash.

cool, i changed the cars oil and now its gone, thanks. hmm valve lash?

you were probably a bit low on oil up in the valvetrain and now that you changed it its ok but it will probably come back soon as you burn some off

valve lash is the distance between the rocker arm and push rod....

Last time I checked, there weren't any push rods in the KADE.lol

lol yea i was gonna say.
It could just be the timing chain guides too. All in all, its a common malfunction. Its really not a big deal, but you can fix it if you want. |
