Is the rack and pinion a real critical part on your car. my car does a clicking sound at times when i take of or sometimes when i am driving slow but not much when driving fast is it a dangerous to drive with it like that? its a 94 civic ex , does anyone know if it is hard to install a rack and pinion? or is there a way to just repair it?

You can fix any thing, with the right skills and tools.
Your rack & pinion are very important, that is what your steering wheel is connected, and that controls your front tires(steering) Take the car to some who know what to look for then report back to us. |

ok, i took the car to get my brake pads on and i asked the guy why it was still poppin after i had just put on new axles he said he didnt really know, he checked to see if the wheele woobled at all when the car was jacked up, he then told me that a bolt on there might be loose so he tightend it and now it doesnt make that annoying noise anymore,thnx

It's very possible one of the rack bolts was loose, it's not the first time. And yes it can make noise when a rack bolt is loose.
