roll cage

if i wanted to install a roll cage in my teg (hatch), would i weld it on or bolt it on and what exactly would i weld or bolt it too?

if it's for show then get a bolt-on. if you are going to use it then get a weld-on.

its not for show, i need a real roll cage for safety purposes. so what would i weld it too? my teg (hatch) is stripped

You weld it to plates (a NHRA or IHRA handbook will tell you the thickness of the plates). 1 on each side of the strut towers in the back (I've seen them welded to the actual strut tower as well as the floor on the side of the strut tower). Then 1 on each side near the front, behind the front seats. Here is a pic of my friend's Civic with his rollcage in (it's from my camera phone so it's a pretty bad pic): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...Spoon/cage.jpg He also had 2 support bars welded, in the front, on either side of the hump of the e-brake and shifter area. His car is being painted right now, but I'll take some better pics if you want me to when it gets back (probably within a week or so).
