Mobil One Synthetic ATF

Saturday I'm going to do my first transmission fluid and filter change on my 2002 Intrigue at 42,000 miles. I plan on using Mobile One synthetic ATF unless anyone here has had problems with it.

I've used it on my automatic Ford Focus 3 times, and now have 136,000 miles on it, with no problems.

Anyone had any experience with the 4T65-E and Mobile One ATF? Good? Bad? Thanks!

Soon after I bought our '01 Intrigue, I changed the ATF to RedLine D4 with no problems. At about 45K miles, I replaced the transmission pan with one with a drain plug and cooling fins, cleaned the magnet and replaced the filter. I refilled the trans with Mobil 1 ATF and the car now has 52K miles on it with no problems to report.

M1 ATF is as good as any other synthetic ATF and is much more readily available and the price is reasonable. It's a good ATF to use in a 4T65E.

I should clarify that the only problem we've had with our transmission is the hard shifting problem some have reported. We had the PCS solenoid replaced under warranty and the shifting has been smooth as glass. This was, of course, unrelated to the ATF.

It's a MotorSports Performance pan:

when you changed the tranny fluid, did you just drop the pan or did you drain the torque converter too?

Re: Mobil One Synthetic ATF

I just dropped the pan and filter. I let it sit for awhile, and was kind of surprised that I got 7.4 quarts out of it. As far as I know there is no torque converter drain.
