Need Help ASAP!

Well recently (about 2 months ago) I bought a 99 Eclipse Spyder and havent had any problems with it up untill about a week ago. I was driving and I started to notice that the car wasnt really getting any gas or something because i would press on the gas but it wouldnt be going very fast. The oil light came on and the engine started making a weird noise, i was only a few blocks from work so i just kept going thinking it would stop, because the day before that the car did the same thing and it just turned off. I tried turning it back on right away but it didnt start so i let it sit for a few minutes and it started right back up. Well anyways, when the car started making the weird noises and i thought i could make it to work the car just turned off so i pulled over to the side of the road and turned it off...let it sit for a few minutes thinking it was going to turn right back on, well IT DIDNT =[ I know it wasnt the battery, cuz when i turned the key the lights and stuff would come on just the car wouldnt. The car wouldnt turn over or anything, when i turned the key it would just make a clicking noise. So i popped the hood and it wasnt steaming or over heating or nothing so i opened the oil lid and a little bit of smoke came out of there but i thought that was normal. Well to make a long story short, I had to get the car towed because it wont start anymore, so im trying to figure out what the problem is.

I have talked to a few people and I explain what happened and I have heard a few different guesses of what the problem may be. Some say I broke my transmission belt, some say I need a new starter, some say i need oil and some say that i blew my engine and i need a new engine (which I hope is not the case).

- If you have any idea of what this could be, please e-mail me with some advice, I am not very knowledgable on cars. Any advice is welcomed and appreciated.

Thanks.

engine light pop on?

if you have a compression gauge handy see what it is. check and see if the timming marks line up on your camshafts. i'd also try to see if there are any vacume lines that came off, and if the MAFS is loose.

Re: Need Help ASAP!

Kinda like blinker fluid. Off topic but on that not. This winter I got real winter air in my tires. I used nitrogen from a tank to pressurise my tires. Does not expand or contract, constant tire pressure. Unless it leaks.

Re: Re: Need Help ASAP!

I have a problem with mine that it feels like even though the pedal may be to the floor when you first start it up it isn't getting gas. It sorta bucks. I'm pretty sure it's my plugs causing that.

If it's not turning over at all it's not that I don't think... But that may have been causing the problem before hand.

Btw the 99 spyder is a nice car ^^
