Killed: 1990 Ford Tempo vs. '95 Civic EX
This was a incredibly slow race involving a dirt slow car and a less-slower car. I am Kinda bored at the moment, so I will try and use meh 1337 writing skillz to build it up.:P
All started out after school today. I just got finished cutting the lawn and decided to take a nice, refreshing coke out of the Fridge. So, I sit down to spend another night on the Internet. But I hear a thump on the door. And who do I see? A short, funny looking man with a grin on his face wider then the Tempo behind him's front grill. It's Shane! He got his first car! And what a beast. 98bhp and close to 3000lbs. without a word, I leave the house and we take off to see what this beast can do. We go to pick up a friend of ours. There is now over 450lbs in the car now, with all of us. We cruiz around for a bit. He gets on it and the car vibrates two seconds before the automagic transmission downshifts and it scoots to 40. He backs off. Damn, this car is crazy.:o Then, we get a bit bored and start heading back to my house, when we see a friend of ours in a stock Civic EX go the opposite direction. He is going to work! So, we head back towards his work and meet him in the parking lot. He shows us his new sound system and Bigg bass in the back. All of a suden Shane builds up his courage and asks the Civic guy if he wants to run em'. My friend, who obviously just changed into his work clothing was earger to race. So, to show off, shane guns the mighty ford in the gravel hoping to spin the wheels out enough to do a smokey burnout once he reaches the tarmac. Little chirp and he scoots again to 40, then he backs off to a lower speed(not sure). Civic man catches up and gets into passing motion. Once the Civic's front fender reached Shanes Driver side door, shane floored it..... By the time it downshifted, the civic was about a car ahead and pulling bad. The Civic went into our lane and Shane kept the gas down a bit longer hopeing to draft. Near the end, Shane kept pace a bit because the Civic man shifted into I believe from 3rd to 4th. We then shut down and went back to his work. I drove the pos Tempo for a bit and did a few highway pulls. Then we all went home. Pics of the Tempo and maybe the Civic EX in a bit. Pics of my car are in my sig. And before a stunna comes here to flame, I do know all of these cars are slow, just wanted to see how I could build of the story up. Tell me how you liked it.:P |

![]() But, I will admit that the race was pretty close. We had a lot more weight in the Tempo, but mr. civic did have 70 lbs in stereo equipment and his car was involved in an accident before he bought it from the junk yard. I don't have the time to tell you the story about the day mr. civic raced a late model S10 4X4 ext cab and got murdered.:/ When we get a chance, I will run both the ex and the tempo with my car to see where I stand(hope we are all stock). I think I can take the tempo, but mr. civc's car has vtec, and I don't(and my civic is an auto ). I think I can hang through first, but it will be a long, grueling race to the speed limit.:P
