1999 stall when below a 1/4 tank

My 1999 windstar seems to stall or cough alot when cornering to the right (cloverleaf) when coming off the highway. Any ideas?

Maybe the gauge is not accurate and the fuel is lower than gauge shows. Also it can move the fuel to one side and the pick up tube not be completely under the fuel.

Fuel gauge is fine. I know this based on my fill ups. It seems to be worse when it is hot and coming off the highway, cornering to the right. Thanks

Sounds like the fuel pump inlet screen is slightly plugged.

Adding fuel to the tank washes the screen a bit ... and also adds more "head" so the pump can pull the fuel through the screen. Dropping the fuel tank to get to it will ruin an afternoon.
