Automatic Transmission GL 1990

hey guys..slight problem just wondering if anybody else has seen or heard of this. the transmission made a few crunching noises while i was driving ... (about 50km/h). then all of a sudden a loud one and a jerk at which point i stopped. i saw all the transmission fluid leaking out. so anyway tonight i had a look under my car and i have noticed a hole ine the case of the gearbox. im not very mechanical.. so i will explain it best as possible.

it appears something has shot out.

has anybody had this problem and would know how much it may cost to repair?
