If you hit the high beams do they then come up? There is a headlight door control module that is in the drivers front wheel well that may be worth investigating for a wire issue. You have to take off the cover inside there as well the tire to get a good look.

Thats my guess too,

And check LH DR, RH DR fuses in the Underhood Fuse box,

But the module is more likely than blowing both fuses,

To see if the motors are good, use a multimeter, probe the wires to see if they are getting the correct (12V) current, when they should be going up/down. But again, not likely that both would go out at once,

sidenote - until the problem is found(check fuses then headlight switch) there is a manual override, pop the hood and by the headlamp motors you should see a plastic wheel, turn it to raise or lower the headlights.

Re: SC2 hide a way headlights

I recently had the same problem.....It was caused by the multi-function lever (blinker lever) on the left side of the steering wheel. This is a 2 stage switch which controls the lights and the motor operation...it sounds like that may be the problem

The turn signal actuator can cause all sorts of problems, its a possibility, I dont know how to test for a faulty one though,
Did yours show any other signs of malfunction?

Re: SC2 hide a way headlights

well i just rebuilt the front end but i havnt attatched both turning signals yet. im missing one of the wires, need to retrieve from salvage yard. i didnt think it would make much a diff to have a "complete cuircut" as far as the door motors working or not. when i inspect the module what am i lookin for?

Not having the full circuit could effect it, electrical systems are tied together pretty closely
This is just what I believe should happen after carefully examining a wiring diagram see sierrap's post/link, If anyone has done a check on one of these please post, But anyway here is what I'm thinking:

Have you checked the headlight and park fuses?

After that, check for voltage going to the motors (if you have voltage then the motors are to blame), then check for voltage at the orange and orange/black wires at the door module, If these check out, go on, If not then the module isn't getting power (wires b/w module and fuse box or fuses)

You should get some voltage change on the Yellow and/or Light Blue/Black wires, if you dont get a voltage change here when you turn on/off the lights at the lever, then the multifunction lever is to blame, if you do, the module is to blame

Hope that helps,
MySatilac

Re: SC2 hide a way headlights

Yes this also affected the park lights the tail lights and the dash lights...It caused them to not work.....however this part of your switch may work fine and may be solely the second stage.
