Lens Cover Fell Off

I was driving down the road yesterday and heard a loud pop noise and stuff flying as if I'd hit a bottle in the road. However I did not SEE anything in the road ahead of me. I got home and discovered I must have run over my own lens cover as it fell off the car! I called the parts dept. at the dealer today. I was told you can only get the entire headlamp assembly for $77 + tax. You can't just buy the clear plastic piece. Apparently the seal broke and the cover fell off as I was driving. They had the part in stock, so I bought it after work today. Hopefully my husband will know how to get the old one out and install the new one. Happy Mothers Day to me.

Sorry to say, it happens. Make sure you check the new one. There are some of the guys on this site that have taken new ones and pulled them a part. To reglue them.
GM knows there are troubles with them, that why you see a lot of lights with water in them. I'm looking for a set on Ebay. The junk yards never have them. Too many people looking for them.
Well I hope your Mothers Day was still good.

Kustomkid54, thanks for the tip. We'll check the new assembly before we put it on. And yes, I still had a nice Mothers Day.
